I'm sure it's not the slobber tube. It's running down the side of the engine. The slobber tube hangs lower than the top of the front axle and the oil is dripping onto the top of the axle where the drive shaft comes in.
it was weeping before. The block was damp. Now its running down the block and dripping on to the front axle after 30 minutes of idle. Thanks for the links to the special tools. I anticipated the heads would be heavy. Thanks.
So I found oil leaking from under the intake and exhaust manifold. I can only assume its the head gasket. The valve covers are not leaking. I downloaded the tm and printed the entire section needed. I'll be ordering the gaskets shortly listed on the supplies list in the beginning of the section...
I don't take mine over 2400 rpms. About 52 mph. Stock drive train. They engineered it this way and it works. Not changing it. I'll get there when I get there.
I replaced my water pump and housing after the break down last week. Tightened the air compressor belt. Topped off the fuel tank right before the storm hits. Ready to go.
Got a hold of the surplus company I am getting the water pump from. Getting the housing used for 75.00. Not taking any chances. Thanks again for the input everyone.
Chad.
Update on the water pump. I ordered the new one and removed the old one today. The bearings came out in many many pieces. No biggie. The problem is the housing the water pump sits in has a ring in it that the impeller sits close to got hit. It was ground down a little bit but not much. How...
Ground Pounder Fab eBay Store About My Store
Here is a link to a buddy of mine that has a fab shop. He makes them too. I got one made out of 3/16 mild steel. He has a cnc plasma table and a 100,000 lb press break. They are top notch. I don't know the price off hand.
To start with, I have a 71 m35 a 2 w/w. multifuel. So I was on my way home from my buddy's shop today and I heard a noise that sounded like metal on metal. I was inconsistent. Not wind, not rotating, not bounce induced. Finally it got worse and I pulled over. The water pump pulley was roaming...
I was checking voltage at the trailer wiring plug to see which pins were used for left, right, and brakes. I was getting 12 volts there. I didn't check voltage at the light bulbs.
I bought my Deuce a few months ago. When I bought it everything worked fine. Randomly the front running lights stopped working whether the head lamps were on or not. However the turn signals do work. I have been prodding around with my volt meter and found that most of the lamps are 12 volt and...
So I think my search function is broken. I have a leak in my winch and was wondering if there is a gasket kit for it or do I just use RTV when rebuilding it. Also searching TM's.
