Knocked up these two parts over the last few days, as you can see the old fuel inlet cover was rusting away and the mount for the water can was none existent. I think my replacements are pretty good.
Yeah just the filter, gasket and it comes with an O ring for where the filter goes on. I'll catch what comes out and try to put the same back in then start it & see how it goes. The transfer case always ran well and doesn't leak, just thought I would do some maintenance and change out the fluid.
Ok thanks, just order 20 litres of Dexron 3 so I have plenty for transfer and transmission . When changing the filter on the trasnsmission, is it just off with the old and on with the new then refill of is there anything specific you do? I take it you fill it from the dipstick? Can you check the...
Can anyone confirm exactly which atf fluid goes in the transfer case. There's 4 or 5 different atf fluids, each with a different letter after it. also exactly which fluid goes in the transmission?
thanks
I believe the horn has been rewired on to a switch in the dash, so that's sorted. As there's a few lights not working on the dash we can pull it out , replace all the bulbs and check all the connections at the same time. Personally I think the leak on the np208 may be from the breather at the...
I looked at a friend m1008 today and it looked more like the one for his. I've found what I believe to be the right one just wondered if these uj's are ever prone to breaking . Now I've refurbed the old one it must be better having grease and some bearings in!
Hey
So i ordered a new UJ from rockauto, thinking it was the right one but when it came it was too big and due to the postage costs from the UK its not worth me sending it back. Trying to be resourceful I cleaned out the cup from the old UJ that had no bearings in, greased it up and took the...
Ok so found a big piece of something inside the muffler, probably the stuff that absorbs the gasses, that would have been the rattle. Checked the UJ at the drive shaft to rear diff and it was totally dry and wasted. Only one of the cups that goes under the bracket part had bearings in, the other...
I was reading an old post that was almost the same as mine and the guy seemed to fix it when he played about with the transfer case. Putting it in 4h, 4l, etc and then suddenly it went clunk and that was it. I know I moved the shifter about while it was running so but I didn't go anywhere, maybe...
Thanks man, will give it a shot. Would that make a scraping noise? I hadn't used the truck for a couple of months but didn't have any problems last time I used it so it's really odd to develop a fault without using it.
Hey all, thanks for the replies. I got under it tonight and took off the flywheel cover. All the bolts seemed tight and there were no signs of wear, such as rubbing, metal shavings, etc so that seemed good. I was knocking around and there seemed to be something rattling in one of the new...
tranny rattle? - updated-
Hey
So I took my M1009 out for a run yesterday , about 20 miles each way. After about 5 minutes I could hear a tinny rattle under neath when i come off the gas. When in cruising along at up to 50/60 you can't hear anything but as soon as you come off the gas there it...
Hey I fitted a temp gauge to mine which runs from the usual temp sensor positions on the side of the engine and it runs at around 180 - 185, which I believe is standard
