That sounds like so much fun! All those pesky seat belts, air bags and cars getting 40 MPG. We should do away with all that and go back to solid metal dash boards to smack our faces on when we are sleepy so we won't hit a row of cars and fly through the non safety glass windshield. A guy...
I don't know much about winches but I like how you include your wife. My wife "bought" me a 1942 WC51. She wrote the check while I was busy so I always thank her for buying it for me. She's not too amused by that but is a good sport about it, God bless her.
To me cranking and turning over are the same thing. Firing or coughing or popping would be trying to start followed by actually running. Just so we are all talking the same language.
I am not sure but can't a local fire department get a free M939 from the government? At the Jefferson City lot I saw a bunch of Hummers and the guy said police and FD's can get them for free. That way you can get any model on the surplus inventory you want.
I think tire pressure is the first thing I would look at. All the same? Vary all the tires together till it smooths out. My WC51 will wag its head if the TP is low.
To the OP,
We have now retrieved two 939's from Jeff City to STL. About 120 miles. They ran along at 55 the entire time. Hills would drag them down but we had no problems or scary times on the highway. They are WIDE and paying attention at any speed will be greatly appreciated by those on the...
Artisan,
There have been many replies on the lug wrench you need and everyone missed your first sentence. If you are getting a M925A1 (as opposed to a straight M925) it has the super single tires that do not have the budd lug system. See TM 9-2320-272-10 page 3-42 and 3-43 for a picture. All...
Also remember that Hagerty only insured it as an original non customised vehicle. I wonder how anybody gets insurance on bobbed trucks and things made into campers and such. Different engines and some mods might knock you out as well. Remember that there are no military vehicle insurers just...
I will be there to help crew the Stuart tanks. We are not trailer queens, we drive around as much as needed by the event and put on the best show possible. We fire real blanks from all guns not gas guns. They sound more realistic. We have reenacted in over a dozen states, even took the tanks to...
Jeff,
Congrats on the new truck! I am proud of your hard work to get it and the balls it took to commit. Next vehicle will be a Stuart tank?
