Don't mount the orbital under the dash. If a pressure hose gets a pin hole in it, the oil could cut right through your clothing and flesh. Very bad and possibly life threatening. Plus even a small leak will make quite a mess in the cab.
Both steps are raised by a 12volt hydraulic pump. It's a pump for a pickup snow plow, the steps are power up gravity down. The muffler doesn't realy help much in the cab, but I think most of the noise in the cab is from the gear train. It isn't to noisy untill you get up to highway speed. I...
The truck is mostly a toy. We have hauled a couple of tractors with it. We do mostly farm repair. The blower in the picture is off of a Walinga grain vac.
We streched my dads cab 11 inches, and it was a simple job. It took us about 3 days, and we are not body men by any means. We haven't finished the hard top yet, but the bottum went quickly. By the way I can drive it easily and I'm 6'8" about 400 lbs with long legs.
The cylinder under the bed is for the rear steering. The picture shows 2 cylinders, but that was over kill so I removed the back one. I didn't want any lines hanging down to get pulled loose. These are the only pics I could find of the cab during construction. After this stage, we cut the back...

The cab is an extra long extended cab to provide room for my junk, and so I can drive it.
The boom turns with a hand crank but could be converted to hydraulic.

We Had the same system on a Farmall 400 loader tractor. Don't know if it was the same Cu. inch, but it would not turn the front wheels with any weight in the bucket. Worked very well when moving at all though. Like I said, have no idea what size valve was on the tractor.
