Thanks for the replies. @lmtv772, have you used the plug you have as a diagnostic plug? what kind of test kit would you hook up to it? I guess i'm asking are you sure that is a diagnostic plug? My M1088 is from 1998. The engine was later replaced though; it is from late 2005. Still a 3116...

I updated my location. Sorry I was not complete there. Anybody seen this connector before and knows what it is for? I'm hoping it's something I can use for trailer brakes, just because I need to install those :)

Got my first MTV, a M1088 a few weeks ago. Discovering everything, which is mostly interesting and fun. I can't find what the 6 pin connector under the dash near the steering wheel column is. Does anyone know? See pics attached.

I'm looking at the 1088A1 or 1083A1 to buy and like to know if those models can be modified to increase the max speed. Not so much because I want to go much faster than 55 MPH, but I don't want to be at the max RPMs when I do drive 55 MPH; would probably save on engine wear, noise and dare I...
