So about 20 miles into a run I had loss of power followed by a bang and some white smoke from exhaust. Pulled over and radiator had over pressured and the top tank had blown apart at the seams (incorrect rad cap)
Temp gauge wasn’t working
Radiator is being re built. I have taken the...
Stupid question time
previous owner of my 61 m37 has installed civilian ht leads which have a tendency to pop off the distributor
My question is
how do I work out which lead from the distributor goes to which cylinder?
theres no numbers apparent on the distributor

Looks like I need a new clutch
ive changes an m38a1 but not an m37
I’m told the WC clutch kits are the same as the m37 is this true?
Looking at the manual it would appear it can be replaced by removing the transmission- I take it there’s no need to remove the engine/power pack
plus any...
Guys these are the hood numbers on my newly acquired M37 - 3B7396- can anyone tell me if these appear to be be in the right format and also if so is there anyway to trace its history?

Hi - wipers do work but not as well as they used to
However, I have now cleaned out the oil , put it back together and back on the engine. Starting has definetly improved and wipers are better
So hopefully it was the aforementioned hydrolic lock
Had a few starting problems with my m38a1
strippee n cleaned the carb which has helped but not cured
i be now removed and stripped the fuel pump and found the lower part full of oil
any ideas if this is the problem ?
how can I fix this ?

Hi
ive taken the floor plates out & taken off the inspection plate to the bell housing
The noise is definitely coming from the disc
it looks like its either vibrating or is off centre
Unfortunately i replaced it in a field at a show and it was all a bit rushed
Engine coming out again...
Checked the free play and it's as per the manual
I was ill advised at the time regards replacing - oh well engine out it is
I seem to remember the bearing seemed pretty stuck in place - is there a technique in removing it?
Also is there anything else I should replace while I got the engine out ?
Didn't replace the bearing (guess I should) not aware if it got damaged . Yes it only happens when pedal is depressed,
Can it be replaced without removing the engine do you know?
Ok - my clutch went on way to a show in July
Whilst there I purchased a new clutch (pressure plate & disc) , and managed to take engine out, fit new parts then engine back in (all in the middle of a field!!) old disc was well worn
however now when clutch pedal is pushed in & a gear is selected...
Hi
I think my clutch needs replacing - the "bite point" is about 1 inch from neutral (i.e I only have to depress the clutch 1 inch for drive to disengage)
Question is
What parts do I need to replace ? Clutch plate etc
What seals etc will need replacing ? ( parts to buy list)
Is this an engine...
