Ok, I’m up and running!
Thanks to guyfang for walking me through it. Had to bleed the pump and lime to injector, but she fired right up. Also posting pics of glow plug that I picked up at advance auto. Works a charm and less than ten bucks! Generator is putting out two legs of 120v and humming...
In comparison, the actuator that rides on the cam
Lobe was stuck in the “in” position. See pic. Once it sat in the heated ultrasonic cleaner with some dawn, it got rid of all the varnish/gum that keep it stuck.
Thank you, I will double check my work as I cleaned it in the ultrasonic cleaner and everything moves as it should, I just want to make sure that my springs a d washers are in the correct orientation.
Also, last time I used this generator (and it has not moved since), I took the entire fuel filter system apart, cleaned it and put in new filter. When I unscrew the drain, diesel pours out, so I’m assuming it’s full of diesel. I will double check this and report back.
Guyfang, this is super helpful.
the fuel pump (item 8). The only way I know anything is working on this piece is that it primes. I know it primes as I can hear the fuel dripping back into the tank.
I will test that first and report back with my progress. Thank you.

It’s quite easy, the thread I was reading referenced “a TM” he found. I has no idea it was an 802 TM, because the title of it gave the uneducated reader (me) any inkling as to what model it came from.
I’m so sorry to have asked for a link. I’ll just keep to myself and stop bothering you
So, my trusty generator has failed to start for the first time since I have owned it.
I have had it running and generating power, but it has sat for about two years.
It turns over like it should, I found today that the glow plug was shot. I managed to find one locally!
I replaced the glow...
not to be rude, I di
yes, I looked in the mep-016 manual list in the TM file and it was not there, so then I looked through all
Of the TM files until I back tracked through the 802 manuals and finally found it.
Here is the link to
The page where you will find a link to this TM.

Hi guyfang,
While I appreciate you wanting me to “read the Fing manual”, if you look at the thread, the guy referenced an obscure TM, which is not in the list of TM’s for this generator in the SS TM folder for this particular generator. I will continue to hunt for this RM in the manuals...
Hi there,
My MEP-016b was running just fine before an extended two year downtime. Fuel tank full, turns over just fine, fuel primed (can hear it trickling back into fuel tank).
When I turn the switch to preheat the glow plug, I’m measuring voltage at the glow plug when it is unplugged, I’m...
I'd really like to get some advice on how others have theirs hooked up. So, if I have 120V coming from L1 and L2, I need to know where my ground wire and my neutral wire go. I have zero volts at L0 and L3.
Any help much appreciated.
Regards,
Kevin
Update:
i have it running really well, I have it set up in 240 1 phase. I have two legs of 120v at L1 and L2. Zero volts at L0 and L3. I have it grounded with a ground rod. I want to know, for attaching a heavy power cord to it, which load terminal do I use for ground (the load terminals that...
