We used to run our tugs and our fuel trucks at the airport on Jet A and never had any issues. They always ran very strong, but then again I don't know anything about what it does to seals or anything else in the engine. The A&P mechanics for the G3 and 4's used to take the sumped fuel that we...
It IS a sign of the times. Theft has always been present, but a larger % of people nowadays are ok with unburdening or making life easier for themselves by burdening someone else. Just because theft was present in the past doesn't mean it hasn't gotten more common. It is part of the shift to the...
No problem, I'll be back in a few weeks. FYI I got the mag at the Wallmart in Vermillion. I bet they have it at all the Walmart's. It was primarily a skidloader/heavy truck/backhoe sales magazine.
There are alot of used 6x6 trucks for sale in South Dakota. When I return I will try to get the name of the weekly journal/mag that has them in it. You could then search for them online hopefully.
At the airport where I go to there is no landing fee, no ramp fee, and no tie down fee if you purchase a certain amont of fuel. If you go to a larger/generally commercial airport there is often fees for everything, landng, ramp, tie-down, etc. Av gas at our FBO is around 4.75 per gallon. As...
Very cool experimental. People fly alot of them at HEF, where I work for the summer. It's a little hairy watching them land if there is even the lightest wind, but I guess it just adds to the excitement.
I've had nothing but good experiences with USAA. The rates may be a little higher, but they always pay out a really fair amount for each claim. They also have never tried to weasel out of paying the claim like many companies do. USAA is the only "not for profit" insurance company, i.e. it is...
I went to Embry Riddle in Daytona Beach. If you enjoy going fishing and/or the sun then it rocks!
I've also seen a number of privately owned deuces down there, so perhaps the town is accepting of MV's.

I saw a sweet M1008 parked and also driving on the airport surface at Manassas Regional/HEF Airport yesterday. Does this belong to anyone on the forum?
It seems like you love it, you sure aren't shy about spewing some hard core bs.
Your statement about invading Florida is an oversimplification, does not apply, and is ridicuous. The ones who will hold "victory over America" parades are the Taliban/Al Queda/insurgents. They aren't "victims" of...
I have been thinking about buying a a m1008 or an 880 for a while. I have searched and read alot of threads, but would like to know whether you gentleman believe it to be a relatively troublefree vehicle for it's age. Also, is it an expensive truck to work on?
Sorry if that is thread...
