MPE803A AC Circuit Interrupter Nuisance Trips

The load meters are estimates only. Get a good clamp on meter and know for sure what your load is. If you find that it is indeed tripping early, get the TM and check the burden resistors. The resistors could be bad or you could have a bad connection somewhere in that circuit.

Mounting an MEP 802A on a Dodge Ram 2500

I'd seriously look at an inverter and some LiPO batteries. You can charge the batteries from the engine or a modest sized generator, or even at home in the downtime. Overall I expect the cost might be a little more than a MEP802 BUT in the long run, it will be a much more livable solution...

    803A dropping from 60hz to 56hz under 25% load.

The important thing is that droop is a necessary part of governor function. Less is NOT better. It leads to surging if you try to get it too low.

    803A dropping from 60hz to 56hz under 25% load.

Its typical to see about 1.5hz drop from zero load to full load.

    803A dropping from 60hz to 56hz under 25% load.

Is this a new problem? Has it ever held RPM correctly with load? How many hours on the set? How long have you had it? Any smoke from the exhaust at an indicated 25% load?

    Load shedding?

Raspberry Pi, home assistant, zigbee modem, zigbee relays to control devices. Zigbee sensors to give feedback for interlocks.

    Input requested - MEP-802A/803A Radiators

yes vote on neck redesign. otherwise, a drop in replacement would be my preference.

    Mep 1070 harness/parts

Those are on the rare side. I do see one being parted out on eBay.

    NC 60A, 50' Power Cable - $500 plus shipping

If you need the connectors but not the cable, I'll cut the cable at the connectors and ship just the connectors for $350 plus shipping.

    NC 60A, 50' Power Cable - $500 plus shipping

This is a power cable with 50' of 6 gauge type W cord and Hubble 460 series pin and sleeve connectors. Cord is not cracking and looks good along its length. Connectors are in good shape. No cracks in the bodies. $500 plus shipping. Should be able to go UPS or FedEx ground. I'm seeing the...

    MEP802a LPW2 Governor Issues

What I can contribute here is there is a "feel" you develop after you do it a few times. Its hard to explain but once you "get it", you'll know immediately if the pump is going in right.

    DN2M / DN4M engine experts, a Q about stuck rings.

Broken rings and stuck rings can have similar symptoms for a while. Long term broken rings will do a lot more damage. I'd recommend pulling injectors and doing a borescope inspection. See if you have any vertical scarring on the cylinder walls that would point to a broken ring. Edit: If you...

    MEP802A 12V Generator

If there is ANY question about whether the mechanical fuel rack is moving freely, have something close at hand that you can use to choke the engine intake off if it tries to run away. Not common these engines but it is possible. You don't want to take something simple and easy to fix like a...

    MEP-803A Surge

That is making me think the fuel rack has too much friction. If it had suddenly happened I'd lean towards the springs on the governor being damaged. There is a plug on the front of the engine that if you remove it, you can directly push on the fuel rack. You can see if it moves freely. If it...

    MEP-803A Surge

Did this suddenly start or has it been something that has gotten worse over time?

    MEP-803A Surge

What do you mean by manually adjusting the plastic knob? Do you mean pushing it towards the cut-off solenoid?

    No Start - Oil Pressure - 802a

I'd take some parts cleaner spray and see if you can clean things up a bit. It may make things a lot easier to figure out. A bad connection over time can generate enough heat to do some real damage even though the amount of potential energy is low. I had a generator that melted one of the...

MEP803A no oil pressure after oil change.

We were thinking the same thing at the same time! :D

MEP803A no oil pressure after oil change.

The shutdown signal comes from a switch that is separate from the sending unit that powers the gauge. Have you done the easy thing and check the wire to make sure its not broken or knocked off from changing the filter? I have had the wire break in the crimp. The wire looked OK but wasn't...

    Hurricane Helene

Here in central NC we were VERY LUCKY and got minimal damage. To the west of us its a war zone. I've been reaching out to my contacts organizing volunteers and we are being told that we have about 1 more week before they let civilian volunteers in. Right now its only Professional first...
