I have an 86 M1008 with a worn out front end. This summer I plan on rebuilding it with all new springs, tie rods, etc... Since I am purchasing new springs I was thinking about doing a 4in lift. I would like to do a 4in shackle flip in the rear and springs up front. Should I do 5in springs so...
I cut out some cardboard and attached it to the grill and noticed the temperature was about 140° F. The outside temperature was 5° F. I still didn't get the heat I would like to have. I guess its time to check the thermostat
It is winter here in Michigan and my truck does not go over 110 degrees. It has a new radiator, heater core and thermostat all with in this last year. Do I need to put cardboard up front or is there another issue?
Thanks
I decided to turn the fuel up on my 6.2. When i was taking the top cover off of the injection pump 2 of the three bolts/screws broke off in the pump housing. I do not know what to do at this point. Any ideas?
Many thanks,
Chris
Over the years my glow plug wires have taken a beating. It is starting to get cold out where I live so o figured i would do it now before the snow flies. I need to rewire the glow plugs and was wondering if I could Daisy chain them or if i have to run separate wires. All information is...
Well today I took the starter off of the truck. Plan on taking it in tomorrow and having it checked out. I do have the starter heat shield but I do not have the starter bracket that attaches on. I did find that if I let it sit for about 30 minutes it would fire right up. One thing I noticed when...
How would i go about checking the starter? I have done the doghead starter relay mod. Has anyone had any issues with them? Should i replace that first?
After the truck gets up to operating temp and I shut it off it will not restart. I will turn the key and it will act like the batteries are dead. I have all new battery cables and the long cable that goes to the starter. Batteries tested good.
This has been a problem that I have been to lazy to fix and figured now is a good time to fix the issue. I have no reverse lights and i bought the truck this way. I went to check the bulbs and both were burned out. So I went to the autopart store and got me two new ones. They did nothing after...
I have an 86 m1008 with a 700r4. When it is in 4wd it will randomly disengage like it is in neutral. The 4wd shifting lever does not move. You have to shut the truck off, put it in park and place it in 2wd. Any ideas?
