Okay, so after more ideas have been percolating in my head all evening....I love the lists of must-have gear and such, and some of the ideas of how to build. I'm also curious about where you screwed up conceptually/operationally, and what your favorite aspect of your build is - the neatest...
That would explain the difference in weight. What's a reasonable price for the shell? And I've seen a couple with the extendable camper legs....looks like an add-on and not MILSPEC. Good guess? Or can they actually be found with those legs on there?

Looking for someone with some hands-on knowledge...
http://store.colemans.com/cart/shelter-communications-p-1693.html. This appears to be an S250 shelter, even though the picture has a data plate that says AN/TSC-76. It also weighs 2200 pounds. Little heavy for what I want.
I am curious if...
Thanks for the gouge on the PBBlaster. I'm going to try to track some down.
As far as backing the lunette nut off, someone painted (at least two coats!) over the nut, cotter cin, and every millimeter of thread. Got the cotter pin out with a flat bar and a hammer, alternating sides every two...
Check. Actually, I've been working on the threads....they're all painted over, so I've been scraping the paint away with dental tools, what paint I can reach. Gives me something to do while I wait for the WD40 to soak in.
Yeah, when I get around to the lunette ring, I have a 5' wrecking bar I intend to use for a cheater, along with a BFH and a wrench. I expect a problem with that. That landing gear issue had me a little cranky.
Well, just lifting up on the gear didn't work. I pushed the cam down and rattled the **** out of it; nothing budged. So I added some WD-40, then pushed down on the cam, and while keeping the compression on the cam handle, rapped the handle pretty good with a heavy rubber mallet. Then I went...
I have the cam style latch. I'll take some pictures when I get home later. I'll try the countertorque method you suggested....if it's that easy, I'm going to have to send my toddler inside for a bit while I throw a small tantrum. I should have already tried that.
They appear to be stuck, yes, but I'm also only getting a fraction of an inch of travel on the unlocking handle. So I'm oiling the bejeezus out of everything and hoping something breaks free.
So I got the data plate cleared up (tape/paint all over it) and it actually says M105a2. Kinda cool. I didn't even realize the plate was there at first (not knowing exactly where to look).
**EDIT** So I got the data plates ALL THE WAY cleaned off, and they actually indicate this was...
Looked through 10 pages of M105A2 posts and searched for "landing gear" issues without finding this problem, so here goes...
Lnading gear was down when I picked the trailer up. After the GL employee picked the tongue up with the forklift, we folded the landing gear up with no issue. When I...
Thanks to everyone for all the replies. I appreciate the open candor. I was actually looking at a couple of the 1101 auctions and decided not to. Shoulda, coulda....
I'm surprised to hear that it weighs so much. The auction lot said 1660. Maybe I will take it to a scale to see why there's...
Howdy, folks! Looking for someone with some experience to tell me what I have here. Won this auction on GL which listed this trailer as an M103a3. Seemed pretty clear to me, but the more I read, the more I think this might be a 105a2. Or maybe something else? Can anyone clarify things for me...
