    1987 cucv alternator problems???? blowing regulators????

    would It be easier to just make it 12 volt ... after looking at a few things it sounds like a possible good idea ... 1 battery for the emergency lights and 1 battery for the starter. .... any thoughts

    ok im stumped .... before having the alternators rebuilt the gen2 light started to stay on. so I had it rebuilt and when I put it all back together ...bam after I started the truck the voltage went from normal to around 35v if I remember so I took both alts off took them to the shop and alt 1...

    hey im new and don't know how to start a new thread ..... I have a 80's chevy cucv p/u ...we received this unit from dnr and we turned it into a brush/wild lands fire apparatus ... #2 alternator stopped charging so I took them in to be rebuilt and now it has popped 3 voltage regulators in alt.#1...
