I love that step you installed. Here are some pics of hitches we made/fabricated for the 931 and 923. Side we made and then we used a reese 5th wheel hitch which we fabricated to make it work. The lower receiver was purchased and fabricated as well. I originally got the idea from bigboy44.

Yes it will. It is less that 12 inches from the top of the frame to the bottom on the pintle hitch. This hitch mounts on the bottom of the frame. I will probably build a hitch but any of these hitches would be fine.
Curt 15605, 15400, 15800 wI'll all fit a 923..they are made for a 34 inch frame. The 15400 has a drip of 6 5/16 from the top to the top of the receiver.
No its not out of a turn and no it doesn't stop once it starts but there is not a set time frame between the pops. Sometinew is is every 3 or seconds sometimes a minute.
