I used reducer from Tractor Supply with Gillespie alkyd enamel. I used 34086 on my M1008. Worked great easy to put down, using the ole Harbour Freight chepo gun.
Been a little under the weather for awhile but back to 90%. Painted 34086 from Gillespie, friend ordered incorrect for me but did not complain, wanted original. I also added the passenger side tank, 40 gl better than 20. Gear Vendors going on this next week, been in the Garage for 2 years.
I have restored an M1009 and M1008. I found reproduction labels on ebay from seller viperknight129 it was an awesome find. Attached is a sample of what he has. I am almost finished with the M1008, Gear vendor and paint, and few small things left. Insalled A/C from vintage air.
Did not mean it in a way to cast dispersion on anyone signed up awhile back and randomly come on. That being said, I have got much advice here and bought some items through here. Point taken.

I'll probably be called a liar on this but I pulled a trailer Alaska to Seattle Washington down the Alcan. I pulled a 25-foot V noses enclosed trailer with 8226 lbs (scaled in Canada in Whitehorse) with a m1009 spring helpers in the back a high Performance Radiator from Silla, high flow water...
Leroy Diesel has the glow plugs removal tool. I have bought several of them for friends they work excellent. I'm surprised more people don't know about these.
Forgot one item change the fuel pump to the one that's on the h1 it has the connection for the diaphragm where it can intake and exhaust air from above a water line the standard pump has two holes in the side for the diaphragm to be able to operate
By the way driven mine with water to the bottom of my seat. Keep it out of intake or your done. This ain't a boat so fording is not good but deep water is mid to the doors is possible done it during Harvey.
These are mechanical rubber type diaphragm pumps. Notice the pump on right is standard 6.2 mech pump with holes for diaphragm. One on left for M998 has connection for hose to inhale exhale for diaphragm keeping it above water line, You'll need Jesus to run if it pulls if you have a leaking...
