Just to clarify what I'm trying to avoid. Having 2 known leaking boots that when under highway speed start throwing grease everywhere from the steering knuckle. To me it sounds like that won't be the case.
yeah that would make sense seeing that there behind the hub seal ... haha not sure what i was thinking. In any case that doesn't concern me as much then. thanks !
I've done my homework on replacing boots on these units with a Non zipper type. My question is i'm looking to maybe purchase a truck 200+ away. 2 of them are leaking. Do i need to worry about the bearings running dry? I'm a slow driver anyway so speed won't be a factor. Just didn't know if i...
thank you for the responses ! Evil Dr. Porkchop thats exactly what i was looking for . Just to clarify when you guys refer to being able to add " jake brake" thats a legit Jake correct... shuts exhaust valves or an exhaust brake.. closes off exhaust. Thanks again for the schooling !!
From his description its only being assumed that the injector could be bad based on temp read. I'm inclined to think that there all running very lean. But not because of injector faliur but what's behind them in system.
My two cents.. Until this truck has the tank cleaned lines flushed and anything between tank and injectors cleaned it's going to continue to have problems. From that point you'll have a clean slate too work from and more than likely be in the clear
I had this same problem with my bucket truck (DT466). I like to stay on top of fuel filters. Started noticing loss of power along with what i thought was rust in primary and secondary filters. Buisness was crazy so delayed investigating and just changed filters acordingly. Well finally had...
Yea sorry its the m925 I'm after. The dually sits in the garage for the most part of the year. Just comes out to haul a camper and occasional trip to Home Depot. Now you know when ever I get one it's going to have to go to work a few times haha. Thank you very much for the info. I'm sure as...
Actually as I was writing this bvm called looks like non comer. Tags are 105 a year so long as I don't use it for my buisness. Assuming she was correct on her info. Does this sound right . I asked about needing my cdl for it , she said so long as gvwr is less than 26000 and not used for...
I'll be there June! Can't get over how many people on this site are so close to me.. Awesome! Scar59 I've really got my sights on a M935a2. But thank you very much. I've been wanting one for years and had I found this site back in the day I'd probably have one. Don't want to rush anything...
Well I'm deffinatly on board with chocks when the brake cans are pulled back. I've had to do that in the field for either tow purposes or recovery. What I was kinda driving at is when someone takes a picture for the intention of a sale and theres some make shift chocks down it gets me...
Don't own one yet but I'm looking at the M925a2. Been doing lots of reading and looking at past and current sales. Among the ever growing list of questions I find myself researching, one finds me scratching my head. Given they have air brakes. So when they sit for a while and loose air...
Great site! Member of some diff ones, work related. Laying the ground work for potential purchase of a 5 ton. Haven't had one question that i couldn't search here and find answer!
