Thanks.
Yes on Unit A the controller is probably kapputt. But on B like I said the unit works perfectly. I have applied 3KW loads for extended periods and there is nothing wrong with it at all. It just reads about 55 VAC at idle. No idea why.
I have two units.
On unit A I can adjust the speed pot but the stab and gain don't do anything. On applying load the rpm will fall.
The other one, unit B, works perfectly but it reads ~55 VAC at idle. It is a newer unit but the controller is still a SLC1000. Are there controllers that read...
You work for King suspension huh?
Man... I always wanted to get the coilovers you guys developed for the gen1 Ridgeline to run the baja 1000 for my own truck. I think you are the only company that ever made coilovers for it. Meh. Some day.
I am not that worried about the whole weight thing. Its more the height of the bed on the trailer.
The car I plan to tow is my track car and it does not have a lot of ground clearance. I would need excessively long ramps to get the thing loaded even on the low type M1061 - I think.
Thanks for all the replies.
I think I will go civilian then.
The low type M1061 in Idaho also seem a bit expensive when I add shipping to Florida. I can probably get a decent used car hauler for much less but thanks for the info anyway.
What is the most suitable trailer for towing a car behind a 2 1/2 ton truck?
I was thinking of a M10161 but many seem to think that's too heavy for a 2 1/2 and also the bed is too tall.
Then it appears there is a ROWPU variant of this trailer with a lower bed but I can't find any info on that...
Usage would be for 2 people.
For cooking I am aiming for being able to carry enough food to remain self sustained for 2 weeks or more.
Don't plan to be traveling in a group. At least not now. Self recovery options via winches etc would be required.
I have not build a camper on an off road...

Modern conforts are very low on my priority list. I could bivouac on the bed of the truck if necessary.
The top priorities for me are reliability and off road worthiness.

I know of two companies that produce campers based on the 4x4 Fuso chassis. One of them is Australian and just recently...
