Let me sure I understand this correctly. Surge brakes work independent of the truck pulling it. You do not have an electronic braking system connecting the trailer and the truck. When the vehicle slows the brakes activate on their own. If i am incorrect please inform me. Thanks.

I am seriously looking at an M101 but have been getting conflicting reports on how big a truck/vehicle you need to pull it. I have a Chevy S-10 and pulled different trailers including a 6x10 utility trailer. I have a Class 3 hitch on it. I would lvoe to be able to get a CUCV to pull it but...
