It's plumbed correctly, acts like it's not getting enough fuel or has air in the system somewhere. I'm starting to think I have the pump too high in relation to the fuel tank. I have been sick as a dog so have not worked on it much.
So I had to replace the fuel pump on our truck that we use for a brush truck. We decided to replace the manual pump with an electric pump. Got it all hooked up and powered up. Truck runs for a second or 2 then dies. The pump puts out like 9-10 psi so it should be plenty of pressure to run it...
My Sister fire department has 66 duece with a multi-fuel engine is looking for some fuel injection lines. Memphis has some but they are wanting more options than Memphis.
We used to get some parts through our forestry but they stopped that. Also had a source through the Al Natl Guard but they...
Brush Rig
Our fire department had the opportunity to get a 82 CUCV from our state forestry. Great thing about it is we actually get the title instead of it being "on loan". It had the jump seats and cover for the bed. We took that off and made it into a brush unit.
Now back to the topic at...
I think its Truck and Chassis...they dont get many tractors. The have a few of the Dodge D/W 200 trucks also but I didnt get any pics. There is also a box like a communications box that I did see. It has windows along the sides.
I was at the Alabama forestry main shop yesterday and I talked to the lead mechanic about the next auction. He told me that it is pending but didnt have dates and he thought it was going to be online. I got a few pics from the lot that would be sold. They are off my phone so excuse the quality...
I do know that the Multi-fueled engines could lope hard on shutoff and run backwards. It would black smoke and throw oil out the stack. We had an incident with our tanker some years back when one of my guys had shut the truck off to talk to me and when he re-fired it and tried to pull off it...
Hmmm I may have worked on that machine while I was in G'port. Thats a baby compared to the 2 big suckers we re-furbed for the Army.. Each wheel had a Detroit to them. I cant remember what the size was but for some reason 100 ton sticks in my mind....Funny thing is after we got 2 finished the...
Deatsville Fire Dept
The Deatsville Fire Department in Alabama has one of the best looking military tankers in our county. It is a converted fuel truck and most of the modifications were done in house.
We didnt get any pictures when we did the conversion back in 96-97. We have completed the rig and it is used as our second out tanker and heavy brush unit. It has a 300 gpm gorman-rupp pto pump.
Here is my fire departments duece. It was a troop transport in a former life. We took a fuel tanker body and added it onto the chassis. It worked perfectly so we could have a hose bed between the cab and tank. We got lucky on it as our state forestry was moving their shops and told to fire...
I received an email a few months back with info about a tank found in Germany. Here is the email and pictures.
