That's what they invented torches for :), Took me over an hour with torch and torque to get a single tire off me SEE.

I'm not sure who runs this thread but I can say that I'd prefer that we try to keep this thread focused on helping idiots like myself solve our mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, etc..problems. Maybe another thread can be started for issues like Bison's. Can we please try to keep this thread...

I'm taking a total guess here based on your post, but are you checking a dipstick on the driver side of your engine or the passenger side. I only mention it because the power steering stick is very short and can be confused for engine oil since it likely has oil in it. The engine oil is...

The only thing I have is a big metal hood piece with two latch locks on it, no gaskets no padding no nothin'

If you look at their little chart on the bottom left it mentions Group 1 fluids having high zinc and heavy metals content increasing the conductivity. Any decent hydraulic fluid should not be high in zinc and heavy metals. The other two groups in the study show little to no conductivity which...

As a chemical engineer with over 20 years in the petroleum industry I can say this smells like some serious marketing BS.

I put a couple batteries similar to FLU Farm in mine. I wired in a permanent 24v trickle charger with the extra room on one side and plan to install an inverter with the room on the other. It starts up like a champ.

It is amazing how little room there is between the loader and the hood to work with. I'm also considering splitting the hood in half and using clips like you described FLU farm. It would be a **** of a lot easier to get it in and out if you only had to manhandle half of it around the loader...

Does anyone else's hood fit like garbage? I pretty much have to step on mine to get it to lock down and even then there are large gaps on the ends. My suspicion is that the hood is not the original. I was also thinking that it would be great if I could come up with a better way of securing...

I was able to finally get the SEE wiring diagram scanned today. I think it came out very well. I am willing to email it out to those who General Hood approves to have it, or if he is done selling all his stock I can provide it to the community for public use.

I was having the exact same problem with mine, it turned out to be the fuel shut off valve. It had significant plugging which allowed it to run ok up to about 1000 rpm but choked it out at anything higher. I have not had a single issue since disassembly and cleaning.

Finally got my historic commercial plates today after a lot of back and forth. Guess I need to find a car show to drive to this weekend.

I was referring to getting it down and up (more to get a spare back up assuming you were going to try and salvage it). I used the jack to lift the truck but it is a pain in the ass to try and get the lugs lined up while lifting the tire (alone). I need to pick up an impact wrench..maybe Santa...

I just changed one of my tires tonight and was discussing the same situation with a buddy. I'm thinking of making a removable davit arm that connects up to the side handrail. Like any good prepper you will of course have some rope and probably a come along if you can't manage the weight with...

Has anyone had issues with the group shift lever not staying in reverse (i.e. having to hold it in R) or any other selection? I recall reading about several folks having issues with shifter bushing failures, I'm wonder if this could be the issue. I'm planning to go take a look tomorrow but...

I'll give it a shot, thanks for the tip. I don't remember reading about it but I guess when you try to digest 115 pages of material in short order you lose some...although maybe it was too much booze while reading.

Has anyone else experienced an issue where your backhoe boom would not retract far enough to re-engage the boom lock? The hydraulics appear to all function fine with the exception of that last 3 inches of travel to retract the boom. Got it back on with a helpful push from another tractor but...

Fuel system troubleshoot update...problem solved. So the culprit was the fuel shut off valve. I learned that the valve is not a standard ball valve even though the valve body and 1/4 turn style give the impression that it is. If you remove the valve body there are port holes (much smaller...

Interesting, did you reverse them accidentally or did they come that way? I'll have to check that out. As an update I pulled the plug that sits on the filter housing and cranked the motor, only a small amount of fuel came out. I then tried the hand pump to get a feel for comparative volumes...
