The CAGE code says it was Jeep Corp but that code went into effect in 1972. My deuce was built in 69. From what I can learn, that means it built by Kaiser-Jeep, so that is what I'm going with, unless anyone has any other ideas.
Thanks
The odometer only read 87 when I picked it up, although I added another 600+ driving it home. However, the engine hours read 1522, so I figure it's either the slowest deuce in the world, or they replaced or reset the odometer but not the engine hours? It was a Tooele Army Depot rebuild, Not sure...
Carnac,
If you can tell me the manufacturer and year of manufacture on the vehicle in my last post, I need it for the title and registration.
Thanks,
Garlstedt

I agree. Brandi is currently helping me through my first purchase and EUC approval. Both she and Heidi (unknown last name) have been very helpful. They have responded promptly to my fax submissions with emails acknowledging receipt and have been really polite and helpful in guiding me...

Picking it up next week, so sorry I don't have more info. Thanks for the help!
I also picked up a deuce that is blue underneath. It also was originally produced in 1952. My understanding is that it was manufactured by REO, and has a new multi-fuel engine. Mine came to me through the Oklahoma National Guard, but I'd love to know where it spent its earlier life. Did you find...
Yes, I was in Garlstedt with HHC, 2d AD(FWD) from 87-90. Our first child was born in Bremerhaven. We went back to show my son where he was born 2 years ago. No Americans there at all now, couldn't even get on the kaserne. I wish I had one of those motor pool buildings to store these trucks in!

Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll be driving the Arkansas truck home at least. Has anyone ever shipped a deuce? I recognize the cost would vary based on mileage, etc, but what type of expense is it? When you factor in the cost in flying there, then several days driving it back, does the cost...
Dave,
My wife says my stock response has always been "I could have spent the money on beer and cigarettes...". If I ever take up smoking, I'm a goner.

Yes, it is. It will be interesting to see how that handles on the road. I've heard it called the Abu Ghraib Express. Assuming I get it home the box may come off, if it doesn't fall off somewhere in between.
Vince
Ross,
Thanks. You never know what may happen, but it's usually when you least expect it. We had the compressor go out, shredding the belt in the process, while approaching Wichita when my brother and I brought my first deuce back from Oklahoma. He's the more mechanically minded one, I'd probably...
Well, got a little over-excited as a new bidder on GL bidding and ended up with an M35A2 at Camp Dodge, Johnston, Iowa, and another one at Jacksonville (Little Rock) Arkansas from the same auction. Now I just have to get them back to western Colorado. Any info on the sites or anybody who can...
Not sure you'll get this before you're there, but if you do: can you look at 3962/7508, an M35a2 with no cargo cover. Just won it, and will be driving it to western Colorado. How does the engine, tires/ hubs and interior look. Also if you can let me know how the pickup went. Also won a M35a2 in...
The two bows that are bent are not only curved as they should be, but are also bent (twisted) forward (or backwards) in the center, as if they warped because of the cargo cover being cinched down too tightly perhaps. I'll check the classifieds/ebay etc. Does GMA have a site? Thanks for the info...
My first post, so sorry if I mess this up! I recently got a 1952 Reo M35A2. Removed the cargo cover and took out the bows and stakes to check their condition. The stakes are a real mixture: some are wood, most are rotted to some extent at the bottom. 2 stakes are shorter metal pieces and are...
