Thanks coachgeo for contacting JW but I am trying to sell a set of stairs, not looking for a set to buy. (My M1079 sold in 2021.) I thought you were suggesting I match his price in my own ad. Your conversation with JW confirms my suspicion that it will likely take a while to find a buyer.

coachgeo - I don’t have a Facebook account so I was unable to see Joe Washington’s posts. There are some regular boarding ladders on eBay. Much cheaper than the $1099 & $1495 stairs I’ve found so far. I listed with a $500 reserve/starting bid so I’ll see how that goes. Might have to adjust to...
The auction went live last night (eBay item number:166751252844). I listed it as “LMTV M1079 rear stairs/steps/boarding ladder.”
Does anyone know if these stairs fit another LMTV/FMTV besides the M1079?
Mullaney,
I just noticed your frown on my post from yesterday. Does that apply to the high cost of shipping or do you think I’m doing something wrong?
I remembered seeing three similar stairs for $1495 plus shipping. I figure if I sell for 1/3 to 1/2 that amount, the buyer should feel...
YIKES! UPS Ground is $497 per online calculator and some ballpark dimensions (using CA to TX for example). I don’t know how the other seller could ship his so cheap unless it’s just a much smaller boarding ladder. My stairs are roughly 72 long, 28 wide and 7 deep (inches). Won’t fit a pallet.
I...
I think the stairs are too long for a 48 inch pallet. Would be nice if they fit. I’ll ask my friend to measure. I don’t think he can weigh it because he has a neck problem. I’d rather him not lift it. I was hoping a freight company could pick it up at his house.
I expected the weight would be...
Does anyone know how much the stairs weigh? Any suggestions on how to ship them?
Mine are at a friend’s house in California but I’m in Texas. I want to auction the stairs to get them out of his way.
In 2017, we flew from Nashville to Fairbanks to pick up this LMTV. We stayed in Alaska a few months then put the truck on a cargo ship to Tacoma. That was only about $2300 (TOTE Maritime Alaska).
wheelspinner— Runs great, has never let us down. Our potential buyer had said he wouldn’t want anyone but us to drive it to him. 2100 mile delivery plus 2100 mile return trip is a LOT of driving. (Our LMTV has a civilian hitch to tow a car for the return.) Anyway, looks like this Florida deal...
It’s a 2000 M1079A1 (link below). I know height is an issue. We’ve added solar panels to the roof. Haven’t tested the suspension lowering feature. I didn’t know a gooseneck was that much more expensive.
We built out the box for overlanding but we’re pretty close to stock weight. We removed the...
