So here's the pump with the fittings attached before installation into the MEP-803A. Just needs a bushing on the input side to neck down from 1/4" NPT to 1/8" NPT and the connector soldered into place on the leads.
Here's my Carter P70416 pump setup with additional fittings to connect into my MPE-803A primary fuel line. Just need to add a bushing for the inlet side that takes the 1/4" NPT female down to 1/8" NPT female for the filter connection.
I used some 1/4" NPT 90* elbows on the output side along...
So I found the Carter P70416 pump that is the replacement for the E1074 unit on an auction site and have managed to assemble it with a bunch of fittings to reinstall into my 803A.
She rumbled to life on the first try, after preheating and priming.
I'll add photos in a bit to show my completed...
And the E1074 is now a Carter P74016.
Found some on that auction site and other places as well.
Remember, one is none, two is one, three is two, and four is just right.
Reviving an older thread with updated information about said fuel pump.
E1074 is now a Carter P74016.
Just ordered some myself.
Happy pumping and parts supply!
So I just metered power at the Primary Pump, which is an E1074 unit, and have confirmed power at that connector
Seems like I need to purchase an E1074 pump.
Best source for these?
Gents--
My MEP-803A cranks but will not start. 98 hours total, plenty of good fuel.
When I turn the switch to Prime/Aux, I hear a pump running, but when I turn the switch to Prime/Run on the way to Start, there's no pump running.
Suggestions please.
Thanks!
Take your time and wait for the right unit at a price you can live with.
Look at the oil analysis in the listing as that can tell you as much, if not more, than the photos. Look for fluid stains on the engine and case floor as there is a story there. Exterior cosmetics are informative, but...
Thanks for sharing this vital source of information and support for all MEP owners! I look forward to seeing and then printing for reference the updated listing.
Yes, pries on GP have skyrocketed since the storm season has kicked in and boosted peoples' needs. My purchase last November is now running about 50% less than comparable units. I've been tracking them for a neighbor who just has to have one like mine but is not in a rush. Kinda ridiculous to...
No disrespect meant to OP but just speaking from professional experience. I DO get how relatively quiet these units are compared to the commercial screamers found on the big box shelves which is one of the key reasons I purchased one in the first place. I will be removing my door stops as they...
'Real' installations are usually less 'tight' than some corporate facilities! I can speak to that from decades in the film business. Harder to film in corporate offices and spaces than the real government or military locations!
Your deal wasn't that bad considering the prices since the hurricane season on those auction sites. Mine was lacking the tongue jack handle as well. Wouldn't mind picking one up even though my -803A is off the trailer.
I'm in the same boat with my -803A as well. I might need to upgrade the wife and kids with Generator 2.0 so they can deal with it when I'm not around the manage the machine and loads. Color coding the breakers is great but using my P-Touch machine to label each one correctly will make this...
