Update! I have no idea what the heck is going on? I was messing with the 2A Wire, (see picture) and all of a sudden the volt gauge shot up and started charging perfect! I wiggled the wire again and lost charging again. So a bad wire one would guess, right? Wrong! I thought it was a bad wire...
Been reading the TM and it all seem to be pointing to the PCB?
TM 9-2320-20-1 Alternator section page 2-196
1. ARE ALTERNATOR DRIVEBELTS/ SERPENTINE BELT TIGHT AND IN GOOD CONDITION (NO CRACKS, FRAYS, OR GLAZE)?
Answer: yes!
2. ARE ALL WIRE CONNECTIONSTO ALTERNATOR CLEAN, TIGHT, AND...
Correct. Here’s the deal. I was driving the Humvee yesterday and I don’t know how, what or why but the truck started charging, yeah weird. I have a digital volt gauge installed and I was driving down the road and happen to to look at my Digital gauge and it read 27.9 volts and my blower motor...
Thanks for the help. I'm really not sure if i need an Alternator? Moreover it going to cost a bit more money to upgrade. now having said that, I lost power to glow plugs a while back no power coming out of the PCB to the Glow blog) and now my alternator gauge is stuck in the yellow (see...
Hello. have a quick question. can a 60 amp Alternator be swapped out with a 200 Amp (dual volt) Alternator without any modification. I have a chance to buy one ( really cheap) but i don't know if it will bolt right in and hook up to my electrical? i know the pully has to be swapped from...
ok. I'm going to do all the tips i have been given and clean all connections. I did swap out bail out cables and got the same result, which is why i think the issues is in the head set? but will keep playing with it and keep you guys posted.
Got an issue with my passenger headset (i think?). The issues is I can here the driver side head set when it gets spoken into but the driver can’t hear me and I can’t here my self. Is this a bad head set or dirty connections?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So, here’s an update. I lost power to my glow plugs as I have mentioned in previous post, but I was able to start the engine and I also noticed that my volt gauge doesn’t come out of the yellow and I’m averaging 24 volts and it goes down from there the longer I drive. My question is this...
That’s kinda where I installed my RPM gauge near that location but was able to
keep my air gauge. You might want to reinstall the air gauge somwhere. But it looks like a clean install. Good job.
well there you go! Mac mortars don’t sell used parts. So that’s where I’m going, it’s the most logical move. Unless Ericks does price matching? Kidding! Boy i’m glad thats over.
Thanks
Agreed! The 6.5 Gep optimizer Is a very good engine. After my research on the 6.2 L I am so thankful mine didn’t have one under the hood. And after more research on my block numbers and valley castings I have a 2005 6.5 GEP with Navistar block.
Correct! Mac Motors doesn’t say it’s “new”or “used” so I’m forced to make an assumption. I’m just a Leyman when it comes to things like this, but my knowledge on the Humvee is rapidly growing. I mean I don’t know there history, I’m just a civilian customer who likes to know what he’s buying...
ok course. But for the price difference it would better to get the new. Only God knows how much time is left on a used PCB and if it goes out 6 months from now then I would be spending more money.
No problem. I ran 12 volts threw the 575A which feeds the glow plugs and runs straight Into the PCB. It seems that my glow plug wires are integrated into the main harness. Nevertheless, I ran a hot wire to that wire and my rig fired up instantly. I didn’t use any switch or solenoid I was just...
