What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Fixed the passenger side mirror that broke. It is a piece of all thread in the middle of a piece of electical conduit, then painted. Then installed a keyed battery cut off switch.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Took the truck to the local nursery and got some top soil for my wife’s flower bed for mother’s day- the cashier looked confused when I purchased four scoops—she told me that one scoop “would fill your truck up”… I just smiled, and she asked if I had a trailer to haul it with and I just smiled...

    Stupid 5-Ton Allison Transmission Question

Just to add to the conversation, it was not the Army or some knucklehead, that decided to use 10w oil in the transmissions. This comes directly from Allison Transmissions themselves. On page 5 and 6 of this "Mechanics tips" from Allison, it shows that the use of SAE 10W or SAE 30 oil is...

OK... I admit it... that first step in the M925A1 is a Bit%$ .. what have others done

I second the vote for a spring loaded step that can easily be removed by two pins when offroading, and will be about a 11" lower first step- and they are about $110. Here is a link to one type at summit racing- http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mre-jkst07/overview/ and some pics of what they...

sink unit, surgical scrub, field unit TM?

I've never used one in the guard, can you tell me anything about them? Do they work well? In other pics I saw that people used a 5 gallon jerry can for the supply of fresh water and then another jerry for the used or waste water, is that how you used them as well? Did the units heat the water...

Unanswered mystery questions about the M105 trailer....

I meant just one hole on each side of the tongue, so it would still be four points, two up front left/right and two in the rear, left/right-- the loops on my trailer have a larger one on top of a smaller one- so what I was meaning was instead of the two holes in the one bracket- just one loop on...
