10 bolts are common and cheap enough.....just replace the whole thing.

    4" Lift for my M1028

I have their shackle flip on the rear of my truck along with 4" springs and +1"lift shackles. My stock drivshaft was plenty long for this setup. If you want the truck to flex, you might want to look at different springs in the rear. My stock springs were stiffer than the lift springs I replaced...

    Lifting Issues with a 1008...

On my lift kit, had I installed the shims to cheat on my front drive shaft I would have negative caster. I installed them to add to my caster so my truck will still drive good on the highway. Figure 12-2.—Caster angle. Using the caster to raise your pinion will let you run a lesser drive...

    Lifting Issues with a 1008...

If you are talking about the angle shims for the front suspension, the shims are supposed to be placed with the larger angle to the back and make the pinion angle worse. They are there so the truck will still track straight.

    Transfer case leak

Those T cases are light enough to take out by hand. Just drain the fluid from the T case and the transmission, unbolt it from its adapter and pull it off. You can unscrew the seal spring and cut some coils out of it and reassemble it to make it a little tighter.

    M1028 Sm465-NP205 swap,

Yes I think mine is about 4-5 inches too long. I just got it running a the weekend before last. I had a custom made for my 400/208 hope it can make the increased angle. I am going to see if I can get it cut down. What year is your setup from? mine was a 77 1ton so it had a fixed yoke rear...

    M1028 Sm465-NP205 swap,

I cant think of any other problems I had with my swap. It went pretty straightforward, the frame even had holes for the z bar link and holes in the proper place for the cross member. Do you have a front driveshaft? I got one with my transmission that I cant use cause I am lifted. You could...

    M1028 Sm465-NP205 swap,

While you have the matting out of the cab you should go ahead and remove the mount on the trans hump and passenger floor. Do make sure that your starter can turn the engine over with the flywheel prior to installing the transmission. My flywheel touched my starter and prevented it from...

    Mr gasket fuel pump

I kept trying the mr gasket pumps on my m151 and never found a good one. I have a friend who worked at autozone and he got me a pump from the back that has been good for 3 years. It is a round body in a generic box, the brand didnt stand out. It was cheaper and has proven to be quite a good pump...

    6.2 locked up

Well I got it out and back together today. The interference was the tooth ring on the flywheel to the starter. It had already rubbed a little out of the starter. I took a angle grinder to my starter and got enough space for it to fit. I put it all back together and it fired right up. I will post...

    Mr gasket fuel pump

I have bought quite a few of the standard Mr gasket pumps (4-5) and they never seem to work at all.

    6.2 locked up

I am going to give the hydro lock theory a try but I worry that if it does have water in my cylinder first it has been in there a long time and will probably have caused problems, second that I tried to turn it over with great force and could have been rods. The truck did sit for a while for...

    6.2 locked up

I will get some pics at some point. It was fairly easy; everything just bolts together. All the holes are there. I think if you found a later 80s trans and transfer case you could use the same driveshafts. I bought a half ton transmission first and later found a one ton that has the bigger...

    6.2 locked up

bought new arp flywheel studs when I put it in. I will try to remove glowplugs tomorrow before I take it apart. I never took the air filter housing off but now that I think of it, the engine was leaning backward for a long time and the opening on the air filter was pointed toward the drivers...

    6.2 locked up

Well I am planning on taking it out tomorrow if I can make it fit into my shop. I am tired of working out in the cold. When I put it in my trans jack cylinder wasnt working so I got creative with ratchet straps (dont want to do that again). I bought a new hydraulic cylinder so it should go...

    6.2 locked up

A little background: Around october last year I cracked my transfer case and adapter on my M1028; so I decided to swap in a 4spd. I just got everything together and my engine wont turn over. I drove the truck to the spot where I worked on it. The engine was running great as it has since I got...

    best lift for a m1008

If you want 6" I would do 6" springs in front and a shackle flip in back and see how it sits. I used superlift springs just cause that is what ORD carried, they seem to flex well enough. I did 8" springs in front with 1" zerorates and 4" springs in back with 4" shackle flip with 5" shackles...

Diesel fuel in a lawn sprayer is what some farmers around here use to keep their equipment from rusting.

    TH400 sprung a leak

I took my truck out this weekend, up until now the truck had a light leak out the transfercase and I was going to get to it eventually. The trans was apparantly leaking back into the transfercase, now it is pouring out where the two join. I used 3gallons of trans oil to get back home. The...

    9"-8" lift with pic

Nah, left it where it was, it was pretty centered. I think if I were to move it forward my tires would turn into my front bumper. I have cut the body since I posted pictures.
