Seems like a good place to start. Are they fairly easy to set up as a base station? I dont think I've seen (not that it doesnt exisit) a power supply or anything for non mobile use. I might not be searching correctly though
Well my pl lan is to have a usable radio in the hmmwv and be able to use it as a base as well. Right now I'm not hugely concerned with talking to people across country, I'm sure I'll get there one day, but to start I'd like a military radio, or one that looks like it belongs in the truck. The...
Afternoon and thanks in advance for the help. Currently studying for my license (technician to start) and I'm trying to get an idea on a radio. I'd like one I could use in my M998 and take out and set up in the house fairly easy(ie not 4 hours to pull it off the truck and another 2 to set up on...
I like those wheels. What are they if you don't mind me asking. I've been considering a new set with something that is easier to get tires for up here

Another quick question while I'm thinking of it, is the thermostat different between motors? I haven't checked part numbers yet, but if I need the 6.2 water pump I figured I would ask if I need a 6.2 or 6.5 thermostat if it matters. Thanks

Thanks for all the help with this. Hopefully soon I can get started figuring out where the drips coming from and get it taken care of.
Is there enough room to get it out with out totally disassembling the whole from end? My garage is a bit small for pulling hood and all that off so if I don't...
Part of my plan is once I determine where the leak is, repair or replace the part, along with some other parts. Planing on flushing the coolant system since I'm gonna drain it for a block heater, new hoses, new belts, glow plugs, and a few other things while I'm in there. First I want to...
Little back story. I've got a coolant leak on my truck that I suspect is coming from around the water pump. Its not much, mostly few drops noticed at a time, doesn't steam out or get all over the place. Don't see any signs of it anywhere else (in the oil, on the exhaust, things like that) but...
Seems easy enough. I wasn't planning on a stereo in my truck, probably some sort of Bluetooth speakers or similar, and I don't think a cb and phone chargers are going to care much if there's a 3rd battery or not.
However, it's not a bad idea to consider a 3rd battery, not sure where I'd place...
I haven't been able to find an answer or I missed it in my searches, but I have a dual volt alternator on my m998 and I was wondering if I could wire it up to run all my 12v stuff, rather than use inverters and what not, all over. Nothing crazy, mostly chargers for GPS and phones, maybe a cb one...
Got headlights working. New bulbs apparently did the trick.
Need to mount new side marker lights but need suggestions for screw/bolts to use. Old ones are pretty rusted out
Ok I think I've got 2 problems making me think it's one.
Did ohms check on lights and I think they are pretty much shot. Resistance reads pretty high or open.
I also think my dimmer switch might be bad. I pulled connector 17 off checked voltage at head light housing and it was off to ground...
Well had a couple minutes this morning. Went and checked voltages again.
With light bulbs removed and disconnected I get power from 17 and 18 to 91 ground
Also getting power between 17 and 18. I think next step I'm gonna try is disconnect the cannon plug between the hood and chassis, see if I...
Ok. Done with this for a while. Pretty sure I've narrowed it to the bulbs. One was mislabeled (shocking I know) and the ground and I think wire 18 were wrong. That in turned caused other issues. So I'm stuck till I get new lights to make sure of things. Tempted to get some led since I'm...
