Can't thank you guys enough. Not knowing the answer myself, I had asked my mechanic about the parts separating and he said it was impossible.
Seems I need a new mechanic more than anything else. So the "male" center portion with the single bolt and nut is the shock?

My low air pressure buzzer is doing it's thing although I have good air pressure front and rear. The buzzer is staying on 95% of the time but also turns off briefly when I drive over bumps. Sounds almost like a loose electrical connection.

Agreed on both. Had not considered thermal expansion. As far as overthinking fording heights I'm probably guilty as charged, however here in Houston it seems there's always going to be flooding a few times a year and I'd like to be capable of crawling through it.

I recently replaced my rear axle breather hose with something longer/higher and had previously added a transmission breather extension hose routed up to about 6 feet.
Planning on raising the exhaust another foot although perhaps not necessary if positive pressure is enough to keep water out.

Ok so it worked fine. I initially ran straps across the middle as well as front to back to make sure the side rails wouldn’t bend out but removed em after testing. Pressure wasn’t as much as I thought on the rails.
Took forever to fill up to about 3” from the top. Kids loved it.
