It might be time to just replace the headlight harness with a new one. Before I sold mine, I kept losing my turn signals/headlights. I replaced the headlight switch thinking that was the culprit, but it didn't help. I just ended up ordering that heavy duty headlight harness kit from LMC and put...
I've not been on for quite some time, mainly because I sold my M1009. Another member on here bought it, but I've forgotten his name. I was just wondering what happened to it.
I'm also thinking I've got that itch to get another CUCV, but in truck form this time.
I went with whatever NAPA had on hand.
However, if you want your brake system to work as well as possible, then you need to dig deeper into the whole system, not just the brake pads/shoes. The best brake pads/shoes won't be worth a nickel if a line breaks or the brake booster fails.
Replace...
I would counter your argument with, after all of these years of people making that statement, how come no one has ever come forward and said these were special cases. Because they were the standard stuff.
As for the CUCV's, they are a great way for someone to enter into MV ownership without...
Well this sucks. I've already picked up what was listed in the Wiki. I haven't used them yet. I guess I will go back to Napa and try to swap them out to the smaller ones.
I went the cheap route and have the following:
1 - $20 box speaker mounted over the driver side rear wheel well.
1 - Jensen boxed shelf speaker, from my old Mustang, mounted over passenger side rear wheel well.
2 - House box speakers, cut in half, bolted back to back, then mounted in between the...
I'm currently running General Tire Grabber series tires. I can't remember the exact one. I think it's the AT series.
Decent tread on them, so I think they will be ok for what I do.
I hate to admit it, but I agree with Patracy.
The only time I am concerned with high mileage on a vehicle is if that vehicle is not any older than 5 years from the current latest offerings of the manufacturers.
If it's as old as these MV's, then I just plan on repairs/modifications/upgrades...
I don't find my glass packs to be any louder than the stock mufflers. Granted they were rusted and falling apart.
I also have no problem hearing my music.
If I'm just driving through town, it isn't all that loud and I can talk to my passengers. Some of that is just related to the lack of any...
What kind of job do you do that requires you to off road so much. I think I want to change jobs now.
I actually own both a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and a 1009. Both are stock. For creature comforts I go with the Jeep, but for any real work, I use the 1009. The axles and gearing don't make...
I believe you need to drain the anti-freeze. That's why I haven't done mine yet. I probably should have done it when I replaced the radiator.
Someone posted up a pretty good write about this installation process. Search should bring it up.
It seems to me like you would have more of a hassle trying to install these speakers than just installing the radio.
Why not just get a DC to AC convertor, then you can power your speakers? There are plenty of spaces in the CUCV to tap for 12V to run a convertor.
If you had a standard 1009 rear axle, you don't need to add anything to it but regular gear oil. The 1028 was the only one that needed the additive from what I read.
