M1151 A1 funky behavior at the traffic light

I would suggest that you also check your transfer case linkage. Just because it says H on top doesn't guarantee its in H in the case. BUT HL should kinda show its self on any pavement. Doesn't hurt to look though. My 2 cents.

LMTV (M1079) STOPS RUNNING WHILE DRIVING

First thing I would do is put an eyeball in the fuel tank an see if something is floating around in the fuel.........i9f not start changing the filters..... my 2 cents...

    Do you own a 4 speed R1?

YUP, not a big difference at all. The 5 gear planetaries is the big thing on the 85e. The GTP trans. all have most of the heavier pieces already. BUT, since you have saved me so much money in the past I now have money to spend on the next truck. The 1123, 99.5% stock is gifted to the 4 year old...

    Do you own a 4 speed R1?

I happened upon this information while trying to determine which 1097's that were overhauled in TX got 4l85's but hit a dead end. Some people with 1097's night have trucks with 4l85's but no way to tell without opening it up. FYI

    Do you own a 4 speed R1?

According to the scuttlebut.... R1's between 500000 and 549000 get the 3l80 and those between 570000 and 599000 get a 4l80..... Don't ask I have no idea what happened between 549001 and 569999...... FYI to be taken with a grain of salt.... and it's FREE.

    It's alive!!!

Sometimes better or worse every 4 to 8 years but still AINT NO BETTER!

    It's alive!!!

I would try purging the fluid. Tires off the ground and crank the wheel back and forth while someone eyeballs the fluid in the reservoir. FYI, when purging an empty reservoir and system one crank of the wheel will empty the reservoir. Air trapped in the pressurised fluid is what is boiling...

    It's alive!!!

YUP, that's it. Someone has more technical skills than me, THANKS. I'm going to go out on limb here and guess this is the heart of the problem................. looks like the bracket is also missing. THANKS again.

Rear brake caliper w/ parking brake issues

I'll give this a 9.5........... installed pictures would make it a 9.6 THANKS from the masses. GREAT post.

    It's alive!!!

From the view of the second picture you are missing a power steering reservoir............ look at some of the truck pictures and compare to yours..... big round and black right behind the generator over the left valve cover............... or do you have the older style with the integral...

    M1097A2 build thread

4 year battery in my part of the world, sayes so on the front of the battery. Same battery from all the usual suspects is $100 more and 3 years around here. I own several of this brand in different sizes.

    It's alive!!!

Welcome to the world of HMMWV ownership! Someone posted a pic of the inside of a fuel tank awhile back I can't seem to find, it was educational to say the least. Not to add to your workflow I would advise pulling the fuel sender and putting an eyeball in the hole. The fuel systems ability to...

    It's alive!!!

Depending on who had it last, many are drained of fluids when"retired".

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Did some digging.............. and in the Van world, as in auto, it's called L Track or Versa Tie and the like the stuff!! If you want to take a minute and look back at the 1165's that sold out of GA. on 4/24 and look closely at the cargo floor and the doghouse between the seats. I hate to...

    It's alive!!!

The fording system includes the hydroboost and the power steering reservoir into the "old" vented system. The hubs, diffs, transmission and transfer case and fuel pump and probably something I've forgot. There are 3 lines that go to the fording valve that was removed from the "dash". If you...

    It's alive!!!

They take 12,2 and 18 and the associated bits. Mogman is correct, if you don't intend to get in very deep water they are not needed. But you do need the regular CDR. Post one today told me all I needed to know. It show you fingernail, looks like mine !

    It's alive!!!

Your missing CDR valve is the deep water fording one and includes a few other pieces that they also removed. They can be seen in the parts dia. My go tos are Mac Motors or The Hummer Parts guy first. First line parts and they seem to go up in price daily everywhere lately no matter the...
