    Kohler NF2D upgrade breakers question

To others that have an NF2D - do you see any reasons why I couldn't upgrade the breakers to a higher amperage for say the 240V side? Reason being, is I was hoping to use it to power a fifth wheel I'm fixing to buy. I understand that to use max wattage of everything on board, I'd need a bigger...

    Unicor NF2D Light Tower/Genset

Replying to my own thread - replaced the breaker, and I now have power on the 15A receptacle again, though I'm almost wishing I would've bumped it up to 20A. If I ever used it for an actual home backup, I'd want the extra amperage to account for startup amps on refrigerators (mine pull about 15A...

    Unicor NF2D Light Tower/Genset

Any specific size on the tube? I actually thought about that. Or is the tube the same size as the tire? I don't own anything with tires this small, and the only tubed tires I have are on my diesel tractors. Maybe because it's a small displacement head? My TDIs have aluminum heads and run at...

    Unicor NF2D Light Tower/Genset

Oh - are tubes required, or could I get away with the old tube? It seems to still be holding air, but I still question the integrity of the valve stem.

    Unicor NF2D Light Tower/Genset

Sweet and thanks. Segue question - has anyone had to deal with bad breakers? Felt like powering it up to do some troubleshooting, and the 15A 120V breaker seems to be dead. Other breakers obviously show under 1 ohm, but this one was in the M ohm range (and open circuit when off). I just ordered...

    Unicor NF2D Light Tower/Genset

I tried searching for tire information, but probably need to skim through all six pages. After doing more research, after my post, I discovered the same thing about the t-stat. I wouldn't use a Chinese knockoff, ever. One thing I do need to do is a coolant flush. I've been trying to transition...

    Unicor NF2D Light Tower/Genset

Long time lurker, but haven't been on in a while. This is currently my only military surplus genset. I switched out the ballast and bulbs to MH not long after I bought it, and replaced old fuel lines. That said, it runs a bit too cool for my tastes. Does anyone know if I can get a hotter t-stat...

    Using MEP-531A in light rain?

I'm the same way, and I technically own 5 gassers - 2 currently not working Ford 8N tractors, the air compressor, string trimmer, and lawn mower (that doesn't work after sitting for a year). If I could get a diesel powered push mower and string trimmer, I'd be ecstatic!

    Using MEP-531A in light rain?

I'm guessing they point straight up to the sky and don't have a flap on them?

    Using MEP-531A in light rain?

I regret not putting in synthetic oil, though I did change all three gensets' oil recently with fresh Rotella 15W40. I suppose I could put in some Rotella T6 when I get back. In addition to the four generators, there are 5 VW TDIs, 2 diesel trucks, 2 diesel tractors, and a diesel side-by-side...

    Using MEP-531A in light rain?

I actually live in Medina, so I'm sure you've ridden on the Three Twisted Sisters (FM335, 336 and 337), which starts here in Medina. I don't ride, but I have a Jetta TDI that has the mods and suspension to enjoy those roads! Also, thanks all for the suggestions. Of course, I'll probably figure...

    Using MEP-531A in light rain?

Howdy y'all. I've been lurking on here, but thought I'd post since I now have four gensets. Started with a Unicor N2FD, and now have 2 30D36R Subaru gensets and an MEP-531A. So my question, for the MEP-531A and for the Subarus - how well do they tolerate being left outside if it rains, or...
