I successfully restitched the window zippers into my front doors using a stitch awl. Although there was a bit of a learning curve it turned out well overall!
I’m looking for an earlier version of the same publication that includes the L-17 or U-18 airframe, which was the military version of the North American or Ryan NAvion.
I don’t know about the trailer, but the GVWR of an M998 is 7700# and the curb weight of mine sits right at 5200 in the 4-man configuration (no armor) without doors. I haven’t weighed it since converting to 2-man.
In the FWIW department, I popped over to the motor pool last week to take a look at the LED headlights being ordered/installed by Uncle Sam. I wasn’t able to look in depth at a loose lamp because as luck would have it the power was out, but the two things that I did notice are relevant to points...
Don't forget that your vehicle was designed to transport troops to the combat zone, not to cruise the PCH. The top is there as a sunscreen and guard against light debris, which was subsequently replaced on the modern battlefield with ARMOR.
