I just bought the 3 cages used, is there supposed to be mounting brackets for them or do I just drill and mount to cross bars under the hmmwv directly?
So I got rid of the aftermarket shaft I bought and put in an OEM one and the noise has gone away. Don’t by eBay shafts, buy shafts that are painted all flat black even the clamps on the boots.
Hey John,
i took my hmmwv to a rearend shop cause I found a rearend seal leak I let him hear the noise and he request all my old shafts, he pin pointed the noise to my new halfshaft and to confirm it was the halfshaft he reinstalled the old stock bad halfshaft and noise went away.
where did you...

I took my new halfshaft off and put a old halfshaft back in and it still makes the noise from the same side. So I think it’s the caliper

Was it the caliper? I put the old halfshaft back in and it still makes the noise. I found my caliper wasn’t moving as smoothly as the otherside but the rotor almost looks like it’s not being used. Going to take my caliper off this Sunday.
I am having this same issue except with the driver side rear after installing a new halfshaft, what did you find the issue was? I am putting mine on a lift tomorrow
