Here I go again, only bigger this time. (M51A1 resurrection)

First thing I had to do was change out the two soft lines on mine. I wound up leaving the line that routes behind the injection pump in place til later because it was so stiff I'd have had to cut it out.

    6BT swap questions

Lol, I meant burning it through an engine, not in a bonfire. Cutting used motor oil, hydraulic oils, corn oils, etc with some red diesel for off-road driving is pretty cheap fun. Yep, on the 12v P7100 bosch pump, you can simply turn a screw to increase the fuel and instantly get a lot more...

    6BT swap questions

I would be careful of trying to push more power out of that motor without limiting the types of fuels you use in it. They are severely detuned specifically to allow such a wide range of fuel. I would be worried about blowing head gaskets with more boost, and I'm not sure it's worth the effort...

    6BT swap questions

. What's the torque band on the LTD465 look like compared to a stock 6BT?

    6BT swap questions

I do have my mind made up. A bit of a caveat: I never made the claim that a 1k hp 5.9 cummins would have the same reliability as stock. I said that you can push them to 800-1k hp before they start loosing reliability. I would say getting 250-300k+ out of a highly modified engine is quite...

    5 Ton M934 KTA19 600HP Cummins swap

The series 915 looks easy, 939 not so much.

    Connecting the famous pink wire

One thing I've learned about diesels is you want to make sure the fuel is primed as well as you can get it. Full sized pickups, large industrial, small generators: it's something I've learned to check first.

    Runaway kill switch

I've been looking into possibly doing this on mine. I've been looking at two types: I started off looking at butterfly valves, as they are widely available and have many options for installation. I would use a 6" valve on my truck, as my air intake goes from 6" down to 4", and it shouldn't...

    CA Mack ENDT 673C $1,300

Changing price one last time to try to move it: $1,300 Final offer I'm going to tear it down for parts pretty soon, I don't have the energy to try to move it to my property and I need it gone, so it's parts and scrap steel if I can't sell it.

Vacuum and timing, weird engine issues

A small propane torch (not lit, of course) also works well for that. Just put a rubber line over the torch end, crack the bottle until you hear the gas flowing and follow the lines with your 'lead hose'. That method is better for more lines or for finding smaller leaks. For not starting...

    6BT swap questions

Few updates: Mack pulled, clutch was different than what I thought it was. I didn't have the clutch figured out, but should have it sorted now. Mid America Clutch Co. has some really knowledgeable people working there. Talked to Scott Schneider, and he knew all about the transmission...

Tools for the multi fuel engine and NCH 250

I usually just get the specialty tools I actually need when I actually need them. Half the time I can easily build my own tools or come up with something cheaper/simpler that works. I've found that many of the specialty tools you "need" to do the jobs are really not all that necessary, most of...

    Fuel pump

Oh, that sucks man. I looked up Jeep engines by Kaiser on Summit and came up with this for the I-6 230L: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/rdr-4030164/make/jeep I would highly recommend checking the specifics of your engine, but it's worth doing the engine search on that site for a broader...

    Fuel pump

You should check pump model before ordering parts, just what I could find looking up rebuild kits for the M715.

    Fuel pump

Might have better luck looking for a rebuild kit for that one. https://www.then-now-auto.com/product/ck-4390-carter-fuel-pump-kit-2/

    CA Mack ENDT 673C $1,300

Still available, finally got it out of the truck today. Will list it on Ebay in the next few days with additional pics.

Need to tap some power in the rear

I just buy extension cords for projects like that and run new wire. They are all copper per U.S. codes, and the double insulation makes for easier install and more peace of mind. Figure out current draw, use adequate gauge for draw. I just picked up some 50ft 16ga extension cords on clearance...

    M54A2 Brake lines

They don't appear to be 90 degree bends. They also appear to be the soft lines in the first picture. Don't know what to tell you past repeating the points I already made rather than show you the pictures side by side. The normal hard line compression fittings are flare fittings, pretty easy...

Proper paint codes for 1986 M1008 CUCV ?

I found this in a few minutes looking up 'paint codes' on this site. This is a wonderful and resource rich environment, with tons of people that have massive amounts of knowledge to share, and significant amounts they already have. With owning these kinds of energy intensive trucks, it is...

I might be a little crazy – 4,000 mile M1079 recovery Illinois to Alaska

Just wanted to say, the amount of planning, work and effort that you've put into trying to make this happen is just inspiring and awesome. I can't add much to your current endeavor, except some encouragement in that I think your current journey is pretty impressive. I've seen a lot of people...
