I've attached pictures of the additional reservoir that was added with the dump. The mechanic said the pump works to raise the cylinder to full extension. He said he checked and there is hydraulic fluid at the top of the lift cylinder. When you attempt to drop the bed, the hydraulic fluid spews...
Last time I raised the bed on my M925 it blew out a lot of oil when I lowered the bed. It is a converted dump truck with a PTO driven winch on the front. I'm going to sell it but was hoping someone here could give me an idea what a rebuilt pump would cost. The pump is what my mechanic said it...
I have a 1986 vintage M925A0 that was converted to a dump bed. It’s currently with a mechanic who told me it needed two new U-Joints. I believe him because of the thunk when it downshifted. I sent him the links from sponsors of this site and he’s checking. So far, no luck. Any idea of the best...
I have a M925 A0 American General truck that I love. I have a question about the throttle. I've searched the TM's and didn't see an answer. Perhaps someone here can help me stabilize the throttled RPM.
The problem is this. I twist the throttle counter clockwise a bit, pull it out to the desired...
That helped a lot. I need a -20 to help work through any issues that come up like the most recent one with the transfer case interlock solenoid. Thanks for y our help.
I have downloaded the manuals on this site to try to become more informed about my 1983 vintage M925 A0. I sure prefer paper over reading computer screens for manuals. Can anyone point me to the most appropriate manuals in paper bound form? I'd print them out, except they are over 900 or so pages.
The reason for wanting a 4 ton load was that this was my first trip using the truck and it had been sitting for years before I bought it. I wanted to make a trial run at the quarry and down my hill before loading up heavier.
Today I took Gomer (my 925 A0) converted with a reinforced dump bed to the quarry to pick up a partial load of dirty base for our construction project. (Our driveway to the house site is steep and gravel truck drivers in the area are boycotting our build because of the decent.} Anyway, I hope...
Just to follow up, the motor and crate combined weighed about 3,500# to 4,000#. My mini-ex couldn't handle it. I ended up paying a guy $70 who was delivering sheetrock to use his Moffet. It was rated at 6,000# and placed the motor nicely in the corner of the shop.
I appreciate the good advice. I didn’t know where to start. The first thing I need to do is find someone with a big skid steer with forks to get it out of the truck. I need to use the truck pretty bad.
