Yea after learning more about the plugs and the comms system a breakout cable is definetly the way to go. On your 422 controller did you see an option to enable dual circuit capabilities? I dont think I have any interest in making a breakout cable if it does not since I have a cheap LVSR...
For a start look at all of your primary power and grounds on the truck. Check for corrosion or abrasion there. Just start chasing wires is the best I could tell you. A toner is your best friend.
Not sure why you would say that. The old notion of 3d printing not being strong is long past. For this application using abs will make a stronger part than stock. Just the knob is what I’m taking about. Even the arm I could print but definitely better to machine.
