Drove it, but I do that everyday. Heat index is supposed to be 110 in Memphis today, almost took the car with A/C to work. But the call of the CUCV is just to strong.
Mine does the same thing, temp goes up voltage goes up... I put new ground straps everywhere. Could not get it to zero. I think I got it to .26 or something cold. I use a sacrificial zinc on the radiator cap, has been good for about 18 months now...
Urethane bushings and new shocks all around for the 1009. Rides great! but did notice that all the tie rod ends were shot too... Rock auto parts on the way.
Thanks for bringing this thread back. I was bummed that I couldn't post that I ordered a new brake proportioning valve for the 1009. Got tired of adding a pint for dot 5 a week...
New injectors and rebuilt pump. Runs like a champ! 700 for the rebuilt pump at Midsouth Diesel in Memphis. Pricey but well reviewed, local to me, and well worth it me be able to drop it on the counter in person if it aint right.
Loaded 400 pounds in the back and 2700 pounds of car to a trailer and hauled it all ftom Lemoore over I the grapevine, through LA, to San Diego. All with my 09 on ee inch tires.
Problem solved, it is pretty amazing that it will not work with the plug 180 degrees out and the terminal that controls the high beams not connected...
