I had 400ci engines added simple mods, cams, carbs, intakes, headers, ignition systems, 4 gear K30's, and they do drink the fuel under load. They can and do have some drag. Pulling 6 ton skidder plus trailer I would get 8mpg and hope for 10. But under mid throttle and plenty of torque left...
Yep for sure, I use Permatex copper anti seize on anything that I know will need thread protection, taken apart at a later time. I also use it on shock eye, rubber bushings, swaybar bushings, leaf spring bushings, sway bar bushings. You get the idea that I have a lot of uses for the stuff.

Well you could try a salvage outfit for your shaft, or have one built. But I would save the take off parts, driveshaft. Good thing there are still plenty of parts around, unless you live in the rust belt.
Congrats Hillwalker, Enjoy every minute of install, fabrication ahead. I have to look around the forum and see if someone has done a trans doubler. But that is the very kit I would like to try. Good Luck!:p

Thanks

Mg84648, that is one repair or maintenance area, the propeller shaft that gets overlooked and abused. That is one assembly that when repaired makes you feel great about catching the problem before carnage happens.
Did the new universal joints come with grease fittings? Now part of routine...
I am still waiting on my SF97. Cant wait to get tags. Then have to decide how to tag?
How about some advice on best tags for CUCV in Missouri? Will historic tags work?
Thanks MV Owners
Outstanding! I am glad it was so simple yet a pain in the ass. Now you have piece of mind knowing that it is fixed properly.
On the other hand now you have to wonder what else the prior owner "has fixed".
I forgot to ask if there was a magnet in pan.
Keep them doggies moving....
Volvo, sounds like it might be sucking air somewhere. Might be time to replace rubber hose in bent areas. I have replaced most problem areas with either fittings, steel or copper tube. You have to have some hose but you can reduce some of the problems.
I start having warning signs and I put on...
