What I found to be the biggest problem with a non-working in-tank pump is how long I have to crank the truck before it starts. 15-20 seconds w/o a pump. 1-3 seconds with a pump.
As far a driving, I can't say. I haven't had a reliable pump long enough to test this.

The pump I got from TNJ Murray lasted only a few hours. I'm not too happy and I do not want to send them another chunk of my bank account right now.
