No, not for that adventure. But I did for this one!
A friend of mine tipped me off about a truck and trailer for sale. My dad decided they were too good of a deal to pass up, so the deuce got pressed into service to help load them and haul them back.
I don't know if the F600 is worth fixing...
Putting the deuce to work again!
And trying out the gooseneck hitch for the first time.
So a friend of mine calls me and says he needs his backhoe moved. And he says 'oh, by the way, it's not running right and will need to be winched onto the trailer'. Great.
So after a bit of trouble getting...
It would depend on the volume and pressure requirements of the knuckle boom you're going to use. A good place to start would be to look through the technical manuals for the M51A2 and find the specs for your current pump.
You could start a thread in the 5 ton forum to discuss what you're wanting...
Loading up a dead man-lift.
Used the deuce to air up the tires on the lift, drag it out in the open, and pick it up and set it on the trailer.
The lift weighs about 5,800lbs. It was about an 80 mile round trip to get it. The deuce did great, and got plenty of weird looks while driving around in...
Just saw this.
The pump is aftermarket and is driven by a rear-facing accessory drive off the winch PTO.
Very few deuce models came with a PTO driven hydraulic pump from the factory. The dump truck and M108 crane versions being two.
Everyone needs a 6wd truck with a boom on it!! And if you didn't have any friends before, you will after you get one! :ROFLMAO: Yup, it's a Hiab 950.
Yup! That's a good use for a Ford!
I came across this old fluid test tank, and my dad decided it would make a great place to put his big industrial air compressor. We leveled a spot next to the workshop, put down railroad ties, and set it in place.
We laid the tank on it's side with the open top facing away from the shop and...
Haha, it's definitely useful! And my friends have no problem finding uses for it too! I don't have a dump truck yet, but I could sure use one! But then I'd have to have an excavator to go with it...
Thanks! I do what I can, I just hate to see old stuff disappear!
I need to try to get it running first. Unfortunately it had water where oil is supposed to be, and things are seized up. That's why I had to pick it up with the deuce, the drivetrain is locked up.
Lifting it's own engine! Had to lift and pull it to the side to change the seals in the booster pump.
Testing out the 5th wheel plate when I first installed it.
Hauling another truck, and showing off for the camera.
