1400 up to 1600s on a M936A2?

I am now down three 14R20s on my wrecker, 16R20s seem plentiful not so much for 14s. Any mods need to be made to switch over to 1600s? I can pick them up mounted for $200 or less. The truck moves about 50 miles a year at most on mainly in the pasture.

I've put the 16s on my 923a2 without modification. I can't see that a wrecker is much different.

Under articulation they will smack the bed but that's about it. Heavy loads without the outriggers will drop the bed down onto the tires. I had 16R21s on an 816.

Ditto. 16.00s will fit but they will squat with a load on the crane and cause mobility (and stability) issues. Best step down to 395s and roll on.

I think @fuzzytoaster has the right idea.

And you lose so much bottom end with 16.00s, especially with the wrecker being as heavy as it is.

Thanks for the ideas, luckily I found a source for some good looking 14's for $150 each, I may get a full set plus a spare just to be safe!
