I was on Egay and saw a listing for a truck a guy had bobbed but it appears he took a 5 ton rim and reversed it and welded in a m35 stock wheel center on the backside. Has anyone done this on list and if its doable does anyone have a step by step on it?

I dont know the guy and he may be a member, if he is the truck is nice but i just need rims.

I have to agree with the OP, 5ton ( or maybe hemtt)wheels with deuce centers added.
that is the firs time I have seen it done that way. I wonder how tough it is to access the lugs?

OK more info on the centers. Do they mount between the shell halves or weld in?
Based on seeing the 4 nuts in the picture, my best guess is that the centers are bolted in using the same bolts that are used to bolt the two halves together.

The only change I would make would be to dial indicate the hub to wheel and install a set of dowel pins so that the wheel will run true when bolted together.

the centers are bolt in using the outside bolt holes that hold the wheel together, aka 3 part wheel, once bolted they can also be welded for extra strength....

the plates center the wheel, this is why they are not simply laser cut, they are cnc machined so the holes line up correctly, with minimal play between the studs and wheel parts

no dowel pins needed, thats what the studs are for, these are just made to be easy for someone to assemble

the studs get pressed into the plate just as the studs were pressed into the rear wheel half....
