Well I'm bobbing my deuce and I still need to carry a quick question.

Would front springs from 5 ton (m818 ) work for a bobbed m35a2?

I was going to use front deuce springs and right before I started drilling the holes(well I drilled on hole) I started thinking about
how I was going to add a leaf to the packs and then air bags, why? I have a 1200lb service crane in the back
and still need some weight capacity. If you guys think the 5tons springs will work there a guy local I could maybe get them from today.
Also its going to rain for the next 4 days so I need to get some work done fast.

I think you wouldn't like the results. The ride would be terrible. Just add a leaf to the deuce spring pack.

I came to the same conclusion.
After way to much searching and only find 2 topics on it by accident, it seems for some reason using 5 ton springs in a m35 is not a popular topic.
While it would work I would have to take a few leaf from the 5 ton pack, or add a few leaf to the 2.5ton pack.
So I'm going with add a few leaf to the 2.5 ton pack and air bags.

Question now it which springs top? bottom? to steal from my rear pack to add to my front back for the rear?

If you are putting air bags on as well, for ride quality look into the long old chevy springs that all the off-roader’s use.

@tobyS had an interesting a3 build going on, cant remember what springs and bags he was using though.
Funny this came up in e-mail. I just posted on FB deuce group about the same set-up, spring, bag and reason for M105 mounts. I figured I was kicked off SS permanently for rules. Is that really Rustystud back or just using his old posts?
