With the 250, you can cruise at 65 mph on a good road.
I have MAXED mine out at about 72 mph (GPS speed readings.)
Tow? Just as much as stock, just a lot slower on the hills.
With the big tires, the split between 3 and 4 is huge. I almost never downshift into 3H, I put it down into 5L. Low range is your friend if you have a load and want to run the bigger tires.

Stay with the M915 series instead. Road speed and towing capacity don't mix very well in a stock M818, not too mention one with oversized tires.

Yeah, the 915 would run the road FAR better then the 818 ever will.
I like my 818, but if I ever wanted to use it, I wouldn't....
Which is why I want a 920/916.
