Took my air dryer apart and this was inside.....anyone know what it is? (It is now clean with new drying media and orings.

Your air compressor might be leaking oil into the air system. It looks like oil mixed with moisture from the air.

I would inspect the air compressor output for oil before you contaminate the air dryer again. Also inspect the air lines and air tanks to see if the oil has reached there. You may have quite a flushing to do to your air system depending how far the oil creep-ed.
