when i start the truck up it used to squeel like lose belt for a few minuets then go away , my thought was loose belt , didnt worry bout it ; now when truck is runing it continuously squeels like loose belt except ........ when i turn the power switch off , truck still runing , the squeeling goes away , power switch back on squeeling starts agian ??? any suggestions ? is altenator going or gone ??

Check your battery voltage before and after running and switch on. You should be getting 28 running.

Belts new?

You may have a bad battery. Test them recently?

belts on truck when i bought it from govliquidation , a year ago have nt run it much , slowly fixing it up.......belts are in good shape , may be a little loose . so a bad battery can make the altenator squeel ?

Sure can. I'd start with new belts.

If you have to crank much to get it started, it is common to have a quick squeel, but none is best.

it was slow at starting , till today when i changed feul filters and discovered the primary pump was nt running , replaced the fuse in it now fine ; i did spin truck over alot trying to start it till i discovered the problem and thats when now the continuos squeel began ...........

Try using a 12 volt charger and charging each battery separately, for a day(each) then see how it is doing.

You may have just killed them cranking. In series, they cannot charge 100% properly.

My CUCV and M35A@ squeal early on-maybe 2 to 5 minutes, I usually let them idle for a couple minutes or so and they don't do it then. It is just when I first crank them if I take on off maybe alittle too quick. . I assumed it was just charging hard from the cranking. Both crank very quick, but the squeal is there most times.

from my working on car (not MV) days, a squealing belt can be caused by loose belts, glazed (worn) belts, or if the load is incredibly high on the alternator, like when a vehicle has a bad or deeply discharged battery or batteries.
