Alternator partial rebuild

Hi everyone,

My M1008 (original 24v system) Gen 2 light started flickering at idle, pretty erratic flicker. My guess for the cause of this is some of the internals of the Gen 2 alternator, probably the voltage regulator.

What I came here to ask is: are the civvy and military alternators the same (besides there being an extra one on military trucks)? Do the internals change between them or are those interchangeable? And last but not least, what differs between a isolated ground alternator and a "normal" (I guess?) alternator?
I found some partial rebuild kits (basically every electrical thing, no bearings and such) for the civvy alts, but coulnd't find anything specifc for the military ones

I don't know much about alternators, so any advice/knowledge is appreciated!

27si alternator rebuild kit is all you need. Make sure your belts are tight.
