Mike (OD Iron) dropped off a pair the other day. I compared them to a pair of the 1 piece rubber boots I have and these seem superior. I have not installed them yet so I can comment on fit or wear. If they do like other comparable silicone items, they should be much better than anything on the market. Mike forgot to list them when he got them but said he will list them Monday. Since most days he forgets where he lives, I'll remind him.

I will buy a pair if they LAST! Just put a pair of zippered ones on a couple of months ago and they a starting to tear at the folds already. The ones I put on fit great but the rubber just didn't look like they would have a long life. Anyone know where to get a good set of zippered ones that will last?

It really is ridiculous that no one makes a good zippered boot.

yes it is i put new zipped boots one didnt make two months.i wouldnt mind trying the solid boots but i would need to know they are better before i go through the wor to put em on.not sure if i'm ripping them when off road or they just ripped from being not plyable enough.mine have rips on the bottom and near the top so i think they just desintigrated:cry:i am also gonna put some boot guards on there like the ons usa 6x6 has but i'm gonna make my own since they charge way to much for them.

I'd like to know which zippered boots tear up so quickly. Got four of them from Memphis and they seem okay, has that good rubber smell and has the mil p/n in relief 8376530.
The 8x8 requires 4 ea, so I'm hoping they'll last....

What would the advantage to a zipper boot be? If a boot is compromised enough to require replacement, shouldn't that entire knuckle assy be stripped down for maintenance? I understand the need for a field repair by the military in the theater of war but for us recreational collectors and restorers, we can do maintenance. Green would be a cool color.

If one of our esteemed MV parts suppliers would ask the Mfg to make green, they just may. The Mfg is making red, blue and yellow for the color loving mud junkies, but these would look like crap on a MV. It does not take a rocket surgeon to color silicone.
