Does anyone know if you can put one of the diesel fuel burning arctic heaters in a HMMWV?
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
Yes, there are arctic insulation kits and heater kits available for the HMMWV's. You see them in the classifieds or on eBay from time to time.Does anyone know if you can put one of the diesel fuel burning arctic heaters in a HMMWV?
Are there different fuel fired heaters or are they the same? Inquiring minds want to know.Is it possible to use one of the heaters for the deuces if you can't find the HMMWV version?
Thanks Bruce! All hail the mighty one!I believe the heaters themselves were the same. However, some of the parts associated with the installation were different. I have a fuel burning heater that was intended for a deuce installed in my M925A2. It was the same heater and most of the kit was the same EXCEPT for the wiring harness and the fuel lines. Those had to be lengthened because, on a deuce, they are on the driver's side, while they are mounted on the passenger's side on an M939. There were also quite a few parts that were left over that were not used on the M925A2 (canvas shifter boots...already given to N3UKA, Dave Olchak).
