Are there tips and tricks to get the side mirrors to stay in place?

I have tried tightening the bolts clamping the tube for mirrors, I have changed mirrors(first set had distorted glass). I cannot get them tight enough to not move when a door is closed. Help please.

There should be a plastic tube gasket that goes over the mirror post that gets cinched when you tighten down those bolts.

There is a plastic tube. I have tightened the two bolts as far as I dare, the mirrors still move when the doors get closed and sometimes just from the wind going down the road.

I did the electrical tape too. Make sure to use high grade 3m like super 33 or 88, you'll scoff at the price tag, but it will hold up in weather and temp changes, something few elec tapes can do.

Agreed.

I only use Scotch 88. Expensive, but well worth the price.

33 is designed for indoor use, 88 is the only brand of tape that we use to weatherproof antenna connections.
