I was replacing the rotating diodes today. While I had them off I went ahead and checked the coil resistance and coil to coil resistance, and all 3 are shorted together.

Does anybody know how much it will cost to have the rotor re-wound?

They may not be shorted together. The coils are going to be pretty low resistance, and if you forgot to disconnect the plug going to the AC output box the coils would have been connected together via the L0 connection. You would need a good low resistance meter and the specs/test procedure from the TM to make sure they are truly shorted

Yes, what coils did you measure? The ones in the rotor (input), or the stator (output)? As Speddmon mentions, they are difficult to measure the resistance of. Only easy test is for shorts to ground (all windings are isolated with respect to ground, but you still have to follow the exact procedures in order to make the measurements.

Unlikely that all three were shorted together.

I'm a dumbass. When I broke out the 5-6115-584-34 it shows them wired together in figure 8-2.

These are the exciter coils on the rotor.
